REVIEW - Colourpop Cute AF palette

hi all!!

so I'm back with another review on the colour pop Cute AF eyeshadow palette. this one unlike the CP x Kathleen Lights i have some mixed reviews on.

the formula for a lot of these shades are thankfully very similar to the Dream St palette, if you haven't read my review on it, then click here but it describes in depth on what i think of colourpop's formula and how well the palette works as a whole.

when you first look at this eyeshadow palette, on mine you can see its taken quite the beating. the packaging and colours are nice, but the feel of the palette is a pain in the booty to clean. its not quite paper or cardboard or even quite plastic feeling. but whatever the packaging is made out of.. it sucks and i dislike it. the actual design, spot on. its nice and light, petite but a good range of colours. but for staining is shite! especially with colours such as the reds and dark burgundy.. they're just a bitch to get rid of from anything, and this is no exception..

again the same as the dream st. palette.. the shimmer shades are an absolute dream. they look so beautiful and pretty wherever you need them, and the yellow gold / orange gold are phenomenal. however some of the matte shades (yellow shade i am coming for you!) just are not the best. the yellow in this palette - named mischief just doesn't work for me how it should. the whole reason i got this palette was for an amazing yellow shade, seeing as i liked the formula of the dream st. palette so much. but the punch just wasn't there for me. does it mean i won't use the shade? no of course not. ill use it until the end of it, but its not a palette i would go out of the way to repurchase. that and some of the mattes in this palette are a bit chalkier than i like. something that i willingly work with, but i would much prefer to not have to.

all in all, i think the palette is nice. and it works. but for me, there are far too many similar shades. i think there should have been more shades that can work to deepen the crease instead of there being just one. and i think there should be more diversity between the shades. as to me they all seem very similar.

as i said, i will use this palette until i finish it up. I've bought it and so i will get my moneys worth out of it. is it my favourite? no. but it is a very nice palette and is easy to create looks with. if you want to try a colour pop palette and want to try the warm shades this would be a good place to start, but it doesn't have the best range to create a full look. in my opinion anyway

thanks for reading!
